Moon Chun Memorial College invited to perform at France Macau Business Association Charity Gala Dinner 2016
Musicians from Moon Chun Memorial College were invited to perform at the France Macau Business Association Charity Gala Dinner “Shanghai, le Paris de l’Orient” on 22nd January 2016, one of the prime and most celebrated events in Macau’s social calendar. Led by John Ma, director of UM String Ensemble, and cellist Daniel Leong, MCMC students Vera Yang, Tomorrow Hu, Oscar Kuan, Tetsu Yuan, Fanny Fang and Ivy Lam played a series of carefully chosen works for string ensemble appropriate to the occasion.
The students acquitted themselves with considerable aplomb, developing their musicianship, gaining valuable exposure and first-hand professional experience of performing live at a high-profile and high visibility event. In addition, Winston Tan, Nelson Kong, Alex Ao, Ariel Xiao and John Lei were also invited to attend the reception. It was a privilege for them to chat with M. Eric Berti, Consul General de France a Hong Kong et Macao, and Dr. Vincent Piket, Head of Office of the European Union to Hong Kong and Macao.
MCM College student groups have begun to establish a growing reputation as dynamic and much sought after ensembles, as well as outstanding ambassadors for MCMC and for UM.
