Stepping into its 25th anniversary, Le French May Arts Festival 2017 will be celebrating with the public under the theme “Celebrating art and life the French Way”.
UM/MCMC enabled a spectacular Open Rehearsal of multi-media live performance in University Hall by Ensemble Correspondances - a 48-strong baroque music ensemble from Paris - of The Royal Concert of the Night “The Birth of the Sun King” directed by Sébastien Daucé. M. Daucé spent 3 years as a labour of love recreating from fragments this symbolic ballet, with music composed by the leading French and Italian composers of the day, and danced by the 15-year-old Louis XIV as he ascended to the French throne.
